Job Quest

Job Quest provides paid work opportunities for adults recovering from mental health problems who want to develop new job skills and refresh work habits as they prepare for permanent employment.

Qualification:

To qualify an individual must live in Cortland County, have a mental health diagnosis, and have a desire to work and learn job skills.

Payment:

There is no cost to participate in the program.

Participation:

Participation varies based on individual needs and capabilities. Some of the tasks participants complete include helping other local residents move into new apartments, lawn care and snow removal, and assisting with deliveries. Participants work as a team with supervision and have the opportunity to develop employment and social skills and work cooperatively with others.

Typical Length of Involvement:

This varies by individual from a number of months to a few years depending on the person’s circumstances and ability to gain skills while in the program.

Program Expectations:

All participants in this program are Catholic Charities employees and are expected to follow Agency employment policies and procedures. These rules include following the Drug Free Workplace Policy, Confidentiality Policy, Youth Protection Guidelines and others that apply to the daily operations of the agency.
