Recovery Apartment Program

The Recovery Apartment Program is a 6 bed supportive living program that is more independent than a community residence yet provides consumers with necessary structure as they move toward independent sober living. This program is certified by the NYS Office of Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS).

Qualification:

In order to be considered for admission to this program, an adult individual must be diagnosed with a disorder of chemical dependency or addiction. Admission requires a referral from a clinical professional and review and approval by a multiagency admissions committee. Necessary paperwork must also be completed indicating that this is the proper level of care for the participant.

Payment:

Residents in the Recovery Apartment Program are responsible for a monthly program fee that is covered through Temporary Assistance, SSI/SSD benefits, or private payments. Although admission is not based on ability to pay, residents are expected to pursue their entitlements if needed in order to pay for their residential care and treatment. A sliding fee scale is available for people who pay privately.

Participation:

Participants in this program live in independent apartments within the City of Cortland, which may be shared with another consumer. Participants are assigned a Residential Advisor who assists them in navigating their way to independent living. An Individualized Service Plan is developed by participants to identify their needs and establish goals for achieving an independent lifestyle.

Typical Length of Stay:

Length of stay is determined on an individual basis. Although this varies, a typical stay is 4-6 months.

Program Expectations:

We expect that our resident individuals will engage and participate in service planning, maintain a positive living environment and practice a lifestyle abstinent from alcohol and drugs. All individuals and staff members are expected to be courteous and respectful of one another at all times.
